Baize of Glory go joint top with Nonny Pool Boys !!
Nonny Pool Boys put Aces to the sword in an 8-4 victory with Gary McLaughlin easing to a 3-0 win over the unfortunate Ian Craig. This after Geo Edgar had edged Allan Duffy 2-1 with a black ball finish in the 3rd frame.
Graeme Innes and Allan Duffy both recorded a 30 break in their respective matches.
The next match was possibly the best of the night with Baize of Glory soundly beating Century by a score of 11-1. Leo Moffat , the only Century player to take a frame in a one sided scoreline which didn't really reflect the scoring of Century players John Baxter (43 break) and Cameron Armstrong (36 break) .
Warren Fullerton being the form man again this week with 3 breaks over 30 , including a 56 break. Stephen Shaw also had a 32 break.
Potting Bowlers reached the dizzy heights of third place in the League with a 9-3 win over Chalk is Cheap, this place courtesy of frames won. Chalk is Cheap were under pressure from the start quickly going 5-1 down but Gerry Pentleton won 2-1 to stop the rout before Derek Muir sealed the match with a 3-0 win. Can Potting Bowlers maintain this league position ? Only time will tell.
Cuddles brought Nonny Bashers good run to an end with a 7-5 win , Sam McDonald winning his match 3-0 after Chris Giffney and Daniel Burham had given the Bashers some hope winning their matches 2-1. Stewart Garrick had a 34 break in his 2-1 win.
Lucky Break suffered an early setback in their League Title defense with a loss to You've Been Framed who edged the contest by 7-5. Joe Ballantyne and Chris Byrne recording superb 3-0 wins against Steven Stamp and Christian Gibson , this was after Graham McQuaid had won his match 3-0. Graeme Dick of Lucky Break also scored a 45 break in his 2-1 win.
The Rack Pack got their season up and running after securing their first ever win in the League by beating Touching Cloth 7-5 in a close fought encounter. Connor Reid and Calvin Palmer of The Rack Pack winning their first frames of the season ,and whilst Brian Mclevy won a tight match 2-1 and Robin Dunlop kept his winning run going by winning 2-1 , it was The Rack Pack who emerged victorious.
Next Week will see the only 2 teams with 100% records play one another in an early season top of the League battle. Who will come out on top ? Baize of Glory or Nonny Pool Boys ?
