And the WOSSL League Cup Finalists are...

West of Scotland Snooker League Cup 2022

Screwballs were first team to make it to the league cup final with an impressive run that started with a 9-3 win over Point Break in the quarter-finals and a win by the same score over Century in the Semi-final!

It was a much trickier route for Usual Suspects. They started out playing a prelim against Tidy Rack, before coming up against Chancers in the quarter-final. A 3-0 win for Simon Clark against Brian Shepley Senior was not enough for Chancers as they succumbed to an 8-4 defeat

The match of the night was Usual Suspects against Baize of Glory. They couldn't be separated after 12 frames, drawing 6-6. That meant an extra all or nothing frame was required. Nicky Carr had held his nerve to win the last frame against Colin Wiggins to take his team into sudden death. He then saw off Ryan McKay for a place in the Final with a score of 59 points to 48.

West of Scotland Snooker League Consolation Cup 2022

Meanwhile, the Consolation cup will be contested between Lucky Break and Point Break.

Lucky Break came through a close encounter with Chancers 7-5. In a match full of breaks (7 of 30 points or above). A special mention to Simon Clark whose 48 break was excellent.

Point Break had the same victory margin against The Untouchables, 7-5. This match was full of close frames - the first 3 matches all finished 2-1. It took a great effort by David Nix to get a 3-0 win against Gerry Pentleton who on another night could easily have taken the match into overtime!

Final Thoughts

Both Finals will be played on "Finals Day" on a date that will be announced soon.

Finally, a big thanks to all teams who took part in this curtain raiser to the main event which is about to get underway very soon!
